For most people, it's a pipe dream. Winning £5million on the lottery, being able to lavish expensive gifts on friends and family, and splashing out on a £20,000 England rugby shirt are ambitions which will never be realised.

But Ann Ullah, 52, and husband Ron, 58, of Laindon, have swapped their lives running a cake decorating business for the champagne lifestyle since their win in October last year.

And they say the windfall has not changed their outlook on life.

Mrs Ullah said they were looking forward to being able to splash out on gifts for one another. She had already spent £20,000 on the England rugby shirt.

She said: "I made a bid for it at a recent Cancer Research charity event. I couldn't resist it. Now I have the money, why not?"

Mrs Ullah, who won £5,177,425, plans to buy her daughter Louise, 20, diamonds and designer clothes.

The couple gave their £100,000 business to an employee after their win.
