Colchester United hero Simon Brown said today he has to get 'even better' if the U's are to go on and achieve promotion this season.

"You're only as good as your last game," the former Tottenham Hotspur trainee goalkeeper told the Evening Gazette, following his man-of-the-match display in the 2-1 win over Oldham Athletic.

But he added: "I've set myself high standards and I'm very aware I've got to keep pushing on from here.

"With the number of high-profile games coming up in the next month-and-a-half, I know I've got to be right at the top of my form.

"If we are still in the Second Division play-off race after these matches I'll really start thinking promotion could be on."
