Anxious residents are protesting at plans to build a detached house near to an accident hotspot.
Similar proposals were recently passed for nearby Fitzgerald Cottages in Dovercourt, all close to a dangerous, blind bend.
Now an application has been made for the former Old Bird in Hand pub, at The Green, Main Road.
But Harwich Town Council wants the plans to be refused due to highway concerns.
Council members were told that there have been two serious accidents near the spot recently.
Steven Henderson said: "It's right on the bend. If a precedent can be undone, this is the time to undo it."
Councillors will ask Tendring Council to visit the site before making a decision.
