Essex Charities and local organisations who benefitted from donations made by guests at the 2003 V Festival were presented with their cheques at a recent event.

Just over £100,000 was collected from VIP donations at the festival in August.
At the special event at Hylands House, Chelmsford, cheques were presented to seventeen organisations including Cancer Research, Essex Air Ambulance, Oxfam and the NSPCC.
Broomfield Hospital was the biggest single recipient and received £27,500.
The ninth annual V Festival will return to Weston Park, Staffordshire and Hylands Park, Chelmsford, on the weekend of August 21/22 2004.
