Crews from Brandy Hole Yacht Club are anxiously awaiting the announcement of the final positions in the Adnam's Cruiser Winter Series.
The ninth and final race of the annual event saw Geoff Skelton and his team win the fast handicap class in GK29 Rumours.
Slow handicap class honours went to Gavin Morrison in Mystere 26 Miss de Mina.
A cold wind that blew up to 34 knots greeted the crews as the prepared for the short course, knowing that the final placings for the series depended on Sunday's result.
That meant there was intense duelling right up to the finish line at the Hullbridge club, with the crews favouring tightly-reefed sails over spinnakers in the blustery conditions.
