At last Thursday's annual meeting of Braintree Town Football Club, Chairman George Rosling stood down and also as a director of the Club, citing increased commitments from his successful engineering business.
Before stepping down however, Mr Rosling presented the accounts to shareholders for the year ending July 31, 2003 which saw the club declare a four-figure profit despite a disappointing season for the first team on the pitch.
Following the presentation of the accounts, the shareholders praised Mr Rosling on another well run year for the club.
After the annual meeting, the remaining directors held a board meeting when vice-chairman Ivan Kibble stepped down but will remain as a director of the club.
Three new directors were appointed, electing Lee Harding as chairman, Barry Shepherd as vice-chairman and Kim Cowell as financial director
After the meeting new chairman Lee Harding was quick to praise his predecessor
He said: "Under George's leadership, this club has enjoyed consistent success, rising from the former Eastern Counties League through all the divisions to the Premier Division of the Ryman League - now just two steps away from the Football League."
