The streets of Southend should soon look much cleaner.
Binmen will be keeping the town's streets extra tidy with 24 new dustcarts.
Halfway through its ten-year contract, Southend waste management bosses at Cory Environmental have spent hundreds of thousands of pounds on new vehicles.
The fleet, which will be seen on the streets shortly, includes:
Four openback refuse collection vehicles
Three mechanical brooms for sweeping
Two bin lifts for commercial and domestic waste wheeled bin collection
Twelve Leyland DAF Convoys for litterbin collections, beach and street cleaning
Three Citroen Berlingo vans for mobile public convenience cleaning crews.
