Angry beach hut owners at Walton have called for extra police patrols after 16 huts were attacked.

Doors were kicked in and some prised open.

It is not yet known what has been stolen as many of the owners live away.

The huts on the Southcliff area of the seafront were broken into over the weekend.

Reg Judson, of Walton Beach Hut Owners' Association, condemned the vandalism.

"They must have come tooled up as some of the locks were torn off."
