A gang of robbers pinned two men against a wall then mugged them of £70 cash and their mobile phones.
The 19-year-olds were approached by the six-strong group of youths on Chalvedon Avenue, Pitsea.
They were grabbed and searched by the suspects, who then fled.
The thieves were aged about 16 to 17-years.
Two were black and four were white.
