Essex ambulance service has been given permission to create a new station in the heart of Southend.
The facility will be located in Short Street and will provide space for four ambulances and three response vehicles.
The service was told last October it would be evicted from its temporary premises at Westcliff police station, because the police could no longer spare the space.
