More bus firms in the Braintree district are threatening to change their routes or axe them altogether in the face of increased vandalism.
Buses have been targeted by school children for the second time in a week in the town.
Tabor High School pupils were seen by a driver of a Flagfinders bus throwing bottles and stones while hiding in bushes in Panfield Lane on Tuesday evening.
This is the second time buses have been attacked by school children in Braintree in less than a week, as well as trouble caused to a Locallink bus in Witham.
A spokesman for Flagfinders said if the problem carried on it would be forced to change its route, which could cause it to be late dropping children home.
The company has complained to Tabor High School, Panfield Lane.
A school spokeswoman confirmed it was launching an investigation.
The spokesman for Flagfinders, in Coggeshall Road, said: "Children were hiding in the bushes opposite the post office and throwing stones and bottles at the bus."
