A £10m contract has been won by a communications company in mid Essex
The deal will create 14 new jobs at EWA, based at the Widford Industrial Estate, Chelmsford, which has a staff count of 81.
The three-year contract is the biggest in the history of the business and will see it continue to act as a teacher training call centre and manage the database of applicants.
The communication agency's expertise allows the Teacher Training Agency (TTA) to focus on meeting teacher shortage demands in core subject areas such as maths and science.
Managing director Paul Luxon said: "The new contract demands a proactive and innovative approach, which will be vital if we are to meet the considerable challenges that trainee teacher recruitment presents."
The multi-million pound contract was put out to tender, in which EWA beat off competition from 43 other companies.
Its function includes running the teacher information line and customer care programmes
