Dedicated health consultants will meet with Castle Point smokers next week who want to kick the habit.

Smoking advisers will be dispatched to the Paddocks Community Centre on Canvey to help people from the borough give up for good.

The meeting has been arranged by the Castle Point and Rochford Primary Care Trust for next Thursday, the day after national No Smoking Day.

It is the trust's latest drive in this year's national anti-smoking campaign "For Smokers Who Want Out".

Jenny Wheeler, a trust co-ordinator, said: "The smoking advisers will offer people information on how to stop smoking and to monitor their carbon monoxide levels."

To find out more about free NHS give-up courses contact Jenny Wheeler or Norman Cross on 01268 464511. All are welcome to Thursday's session which begins at 12.30pm.
