An Italian buffet and disco was laid on at La Quinta restaurant in Benfleet Road to gather funds for the Lady McAdden Bust unit, behind Southend Hospital.
The four-hour event kicked off at 8pm and Simon Duke, who jointly owns La Quinta with his brother Rupert, said it was a huge success.
He said: "The unit gets no funding from the Government and as soon as we heard they wanted to hold a function here we agreed.
"The tickets sold out within 48 hours of going on sale, so we knew it was going to be a hugely successful night."
