Nightclub door staff are going back to school thanks to a Maldon firm.
The National Association of Licensed Door Supervisors (Nalds) training will be the first company in the south of England to run a new kind of course for door staff.
Based at Heybridge Business Centre, The Causeway, it is aiming to meet Government guidelines.
Because of law changes, doormen and women will soon have to complete four days of training and an exam to qualify to work at pubs and clubs.
Gary Powers, managing director of Nalds training, said: "The whole industry is changing massively. The aim is to make the industry more professional.
"Every doorman or doorwoman in the country has to retake this exam."
The first course by Nalds is at the Haywain Beefeater and Travel Inn in High Rd, Stanford-le-Hope
