A charity scheme designed to raise money for sick children has been supported by Castle Point Council.
Representatives of Little Haven Childrens' Hospice, in Daws Heath Road, Thundersley, gave a presentation at a meeting of the Health and Housing Committee, to enlist the council's support in helping them raise money and awareness among the public.
Council staff have all been given application forms for Little Haven's Little Hospice Bond competition, which gives entrants the chance to win £1,000 a week for a donation of just £1 a week.
Alan Longford, director of health and housing, said: "This is something we have to support. They have cared for 450 children since they opened and they also look after the families of sick youngsters."
