The Chelmsford Chieftains play their final Premier League game of the season away to Swindon Lynx this Saturday and, whatever the result, Chieftains have already secured fourth place.

Head Coach Dean Birrell said: "Finishing fourth in the league this season gives us something to build on for the future.

"At times the team and management have felt that we have underachieved in certain games and we are now looking to put that right with the cup and play-off games coming up."

Chieftains kick off their post season campaign at home against the Slough Jets this Sunday, and this contest is the deciding game in the group stage of the English Premier League Cup competition. The match at Riverside Ice & Leisure starts at 6.30pm and the doors open at 5.30pm

Chelmsford are already through to the semi-finals stage, but the team are determined to finish the group stage by heading the southern group.

Chieftains will face either Milton Keynes Lightning or Peterborough Phantoms in the semi-finals.

The Chieftains then begin their bid for glory in the Premier League play-off competition.

Chieftains go into Group A along with Milton Keynes Lightning, Telford Wildfoxes and the Isle of Wight Raiders, with a strengthened side.

The Chieftains' play-off dates are: Saturday, March 13: v Milton Keynes (away); Sunday March 14: v Isle of Wight (home); Saturday, March 20: v Isle of Wight (away) Sunday, March 21: v Milton Keynes (home); Saturday, March 27: v Telford (away); Sunday, March 28: v Telford (home)
