A woman was the victim of a serious sexual assault after she was approached by men in a car.
The 20-year-old was near the Esso petrol station in Rainsford Road, Chelmsford, when she was approached by the men.
She was driven towards Writtle College and a short time later the assault took place.
The woman, who is local, was then left near the college.
The assault happened last Friday when she is believed to have got into the car at about 2am and been left near the college between 2.15 and 3.30am.
Detectives in Chelmsford are now appealing for witnesses who saw the woman, who was wearing white jeans and white coat with a fur hood, getting into the vehicle or being dropped off.
