In the British Club Grades competitions South Essex had 13 gymnasts competing in four grades, but that number was far from unlucky for the Basildon youngsters.

Not only did they all pass, but seven did well enough to be selected to represent the east region at the national finals later this month.
In the grade three competition Isabel Olley won the gold with a score of 36.50.
Isabel's team-mate Frances Reeves also did well to finish fifth with a score of 35.00.
This means that Isabel will represent the east region at the national finals in April and Frances will be the reserve.
Also competing at grade three was Kasey Notton, who finished eighth while gaining a pass mark of 34.75.
In the grade two competition Leah Hickton claimed the silver medal with a score of 36.1. Alice Cope was fifth with a score of 34.825.
This means that Leah will compete at the national finals while Alice is reserve for the team.
Also putting in excellent performances to achieve a pass mark in this grade were Shelly Cornish, who finished seventh (34.55), Tamzin James eighth (34.175), Emily Felstead, who was 11th (33.475) and Rebecca Eliades 12th (33.325).
