First time visitor Tony Basire took just ten minutes to break the Northlands Park carp record landing a tremendous 27lb common.

Tony fished the cafe lake where the big fish picked up his ready made Nash bait boilie just ten minutes into his first ever session at the venue.

The big fish set off on a strong run showing its size on the surface of the water. Hornchurch angler Tony soon had the carp under control, but found that it was too big to lead into the shallow margins.

Fortunately pal James Blake was on hand to wade out and net the enormous fish.

Tony's carp came during a hectic spell which produced three carp in quick succession. Just before Tony hooked his big fish Rob "Noddy" Skinner had netted an eighteen pounder.

Colin Flack was watching Tony play the big fish when he had a run which produced a carp of 17lb 12oz.

The tench and bream at Northlands Park have been showing well with a number of anglers taking 30lbs and 40lbs plus hauls. Norman Mitchell netting a near 50lbs catch from the road lake.

Norman fished the middle spitway where he included nine tench and bream to over 4lb in his 47lb 8oz haul. He fished a pole and pellet baits to take fish throughout his session, taking a good tench on his first put in, and a big bream on his last.
