Mark Smith enjoyed a profitable few days off work when he made his first visit to Rochford's Doggetts lake.
The Hadleigh angler landed three mirror carps weighing between 20 and 23lb, plus a ghost carp of 13lb.
Leigh's David Leiper used three grains of sweetcorn to take a 24lb mirror that was just three feet from the bank.
Matt Stone, from Basildon, landed six tench to 5lb and a fine 15lb mirror, while Joe McDonagh and Jeff Barker took tench and bream plus 15lb and 19lb mirrors from the short arm.
