Grays protected the Ryman Premier's only remaining unbeaten home record but were pushed hard by a determined Maidenhead United side looking to snatch a 13th-place finish and with it, qualification for next season's Conference South.

Freddie Eastwood may have been making one of his last appearances in a Blues shirt, and it was somewhat fitting that he should snatch Athletic's leveller.

Ryan Ashe gave the Berkshire visitors a ninth minute lead, and they looked on course to hold onto that advantage with the usually slick Grays frontline rarely troubling away keeper Nick Hart.

Lloyd Opara was put through but missed his chance for the leveller, and it took until the 70th minute for the hosts to bring the scores level.

Eastwood, who had already contributed a Man-of-the-Match performance, thundered the ball past Hart as the hosts claimed a share of the points out of an otherwise disappointing night at The Rec.
