Trekkers, based at the Grange Community Centre, Rayleigh, are staging the Eileen Coker Trek for Life on May 16.
The walk will start at Tower Bridge and cross the Thames 14 times using London's bridges over a ten mile route.
Barry Spencer, club leader, said: "Eileen was known to many of the lads through Our Lady of Ransom Catholic Church. Since the inception of trekkers she asked to be an honorary member and she was thrilled when we told her we would be naming this event after her."
