Residents rolled up their sleeves to have their blood pressure checked as part of a stroke awareness day.
The event was organised by Frinton Rotary Club with help from Clacton and District Stroke Association and medical professionals.
A total of 128 people filed into Frinton WI hall to have their blood pressure checked and also to pick up literature explaining action that individuals can take to cut down the risk of suffering a stroke.
Uncontrolled high blood pressure is the most common cause of avoidable strokes.
Blood pressure readings were taken by volunteers from the medical profession, nurses Sandie Hurst and Rosemary Hidle and Walton GP Dr Jonathan Geldard.
Colin Hull, Frinton Rotary community service chairman, said: "It was a very worthwhile day and much appreciated by those who came along to take advantage of the opportunity."
