A 17-year-old who terrorised a community was behind bars today after breaking his anti-social behaviour order seven times.
Locked up - James West
James West was sentenced to a four-month detention and training order at Basildon Magistrates' Court yesterday.
He pleaded guilty to breaching the order four times between February 28 and March 28.
At an earlier hearing, he had admitted another three breaches but was dealt with leniently by the courts.
West will spend two months in training while in a detention centre. He will then be released and undergo a further two months of supervised training in the community.
The Evening Echo persuaded magistrates to lift reporting restrictions preventing the press from naming West, and they agreed it was in the public interest to "name and shame him".
West pulled faces and made rude gestures at the press as he stood in the dock.
