County cup first round matches saw south-east Essex teams in the thick of the action over the weekend.
Thorpe Bay hosted Westcliff Lawn I in a Senior Cup derby tie but lost .5-3.5 to Lynsey Watt, Diana Carradus, Jacqui Moody and Sarah Ball.
Lucy Lauretta, Ashlee Tyrrell, Chloe Taylor and Jade Blackman made up the winning side.

Westcliff Hard III won the Essex Ladies Winter League Division Three but they made a swift exit from the Junior Cup.
