Southend High's Charlie Atkins helped the Eastern region to third place and a team bronze in the British Schools Apparatus Championships at Newcastle.

Charlie, a member of Wickford's Carousel Gymnastic Club, was competing in her first national competition as a senior and, despite nerves, acquitted herself well with her floor and beam scores counting towards the team total and bronze glory.
Charlie lives in Southend.
