Wind turbines to power 3,000 homes are to be built on a south Essex country park.
The pioneering scheme will help protect the environment by avoiding thousands of tonnes of carbon dioxide being released into the atmosphere.
It is the brainchild of a Basildon firm which has just completed Britain's largest system to convert a swimming pool to run totally on solar power.
Now the firm, Renewable Energy, wants to build three wind turbines on an old waste tip on the edge of Wat Tyler Country Park, Pitsea.
