Plans for a park and ride site serving the west of Colchester are moving forward
Colchester Council has been looking at the idea for five years and is now considering several options. Cuckoo Farm and Stanway have been earmarked as possible locations for the facility.
Negotiations are currently taking place between the council and landowners the Warren family regarding land near the Moat House Hotel in Eight Ash Green.
Andrew Budd, the council's head of environmental policy, said it was possible a proposal could be built in a relatively short time, as things had been informally 'cleared' by the Highways Agency.
But proposals for a development which fit in with the Local Plan had not yet been submitted.
