A new puffin crossing is being installed to help children get to school safer.
Southend Borough Council is currently installing a puffin crossing at Bournes Green Chase as part of its Safer Journeys to School Project.
The new crossing will benefit pupils at nearby Thorpe Hall School, Alleyn Court and Eton House School, Southend High School for Girls, and Thorpe Bay School.
Other minor changes to some of the traffic islands within the area will also be taking place soon.
