The annual Strawberry Fair is shaping up to be a fruit-tastic event thanks to some generous sponsorship from local businesses and residents.
After the Brentwood Gazette reported event organiser Roy Dyer's disappointment when he didn't get one single show of support from 100 Brentwood businesses he contacted, the head of Brentwood Events has said there has been a dramatic turn around.
Mr Dyer was hoping to get enough support to help finance a scheme to promote healthy eating and give every child who visits the fair on Shenfield Common on Saturday, June 12 five pieces of fruit for free.
However just as he thought the idea might be shelved the Gazette story has prompted several big hearted sponsors to come forward and back the event.
