Although Sabres were struggling to put out a team in the run up to their Easter fixture, they were able to raise enough players to take on Chiltern Cheetahs.
But they slumped to a second successive defeat, and have yet to score their first points of the season after a second shut-out.
Cheetahs opened the scoring at the end of the first quarter, when Ally Reid returned a punt from 65 yards.
Then Andy Crowther converted a first-and-goal on the one-yard line to give a 12-0 half-time margin.
Another Sabres punt was returned by Crowther in the second half to complete the scoring.
Sabres are back in action at their Warners Park home next Sunday when they entertain Kent Exiles (kick off 2.30).
