The family of a recovering heroin addict who died in a flat fire said he had everything to live for.
Andrew Martin, who grew up in Basildon, was found dead in a house in Norwich after a blaze which is being treated as suspicious by police.
His father, Peter Martin, said he had seen his son just two weeks before his death and he seemed happy.
According to Mr Martin, 52, from Laindon, Andrew had finally kicked his heroin addiction and appeared free of drugs.
An inquest into Andrew's death opened and was adjourned last week. It heard that a postmortem examination revealed he had died from breathing in smoke from the fire on March 24.
