Leigh clung on for a draw away at Stanford following a strong innings from the home side, who batted first.

Stanford reached a well worked 216 for eight wickets before declaring with Mo Alszelle and John Elliott both taking four wickets to lead the hard-working Leigh's bowling figures.

But, despite the duo's best efforts, Leigh still succumbed to a disappointing display as they reached 175-9 in reply - 41 runs short of the required winning target.

Simon Birch was the pick of the Leigh batsman however and his impressive knock of 81 included a number of fine strokes and boundaries, but he was unable to guide the visitors to victory.

Stanford picked up 12 points against the six of their opponents.
