The centre, which will provide on-the-job training and NVQ's, will be based at Haven Road, Canvey, from June 1.
It is hoped the centre, which will be a branch of Southend's Crown College, will attract thousands of the 9,000 young people living on the island.
Marketing manager of Crown College, Chris Boreham said: "We will offer various training for industries such as hospitality, retail, IT, administrative and customer services."
Castle Point MP Bob Spink welcomed the centre.
He said: "I am delighted this college satellite is going to open and I will offer it my full support and encouragement."
