Cars were left on the driveway yesterday and bikes taken out for the popular Tour de Tendring.
Organisers were thrilled with the day's success and are already looking forward to next year's event.
More than 880 people enrolled for the ride at Lower Marine Parade, Dovercourt, and made their way around the Tendring countryside taking part in 20, 50 or 100-mile routes.
Bob Foster, Tendring Council's entertainments officer, said: "All in all, it has been an excellent day and we are looking forward to next year."
Proceeds will go to the RNLI and youth sports initiatives.
