Southend has again won a gold award at this year's Chelsea Flower Show, it was revealed today.
This year's council exhibit, the Woodcutter's Garden, is centred around a Romany caravan and recreates a small part of Essex's native woodland, capturing the romance, mystery and heritage of woodland dwellers.
It is intended to emphasise their solitary life, which was so close to the natural cycle of the woodland in which they lived.
