A school celebrated getting another £1,500 towards a special trip to Normandy but it is still looking for £2,000.
Donation delight - Margaret Bates, of Kingsdown School, receives a £1,500 cheque from Julie Godfrey of HSBC Picture: ROB BROWNE
Kingsdown School, in Snakes Lane, Eastwood, is hoping to take 16 special needs children to France in late June.
After reading of the trip in the Evening Echo, HSBC staff went to the school to hand over £1,500.
Teacher and trip organiser Margaret Bates thanked the many donations sparked by a story in the Echo which generated up to £2,500 in one week.
An auction on Saturday will hopefully raise the final £2,000 needed for the £10,000 trip.
