The son of murdered pensioner Cassie Quin has called for more stringent vetting of people who deal with the elderly.
Andrew Quin, 49, of Codenham Green, Basildon, called for action after taxi driver David Collier was jailed for life for the brutal murder in Brentwood.
With his brother Stuart, 53, Mr Quin told how Collier's "unprovoked and cruel attack" on their mother had left the family in a state of shock and grief that would never leave them.
Father-of-two Stuart Quin said: "We are extremely concerned such a man was allowed to have regular access to a vulnerable pensioner.
"We will be taking steps to make sure people are forced to act more responsibly and the drivers used are fit and reliable for the task."
