A new centre in Colchester will help people with heart disease.
The centre is a joint venture between Essex University and Primary Care Trusts in Colchester and Tendring and will help coronary patients once they have left hospital.
It is designed to help them improve the health of their heart through gentle exercise regimes away from normal gym environments.
Dr Jeremy Shearman, a co-director of the project, added: "We aim to offer people an alternative to the traditional fitness centre experience which many find intimidating."
