Actress and former Steps star Faye Tozer helped to officially open the new Ladybird Nursery at Southend Hospital.
Faye, who has just finished her stint in Tell Me on a Sunday at the Cliffs Pavilion, cut the ribbon with hospital chairman John Bruce.
She then spent time with children, parents and staff, followed by a tour of the new facilities in Cardigan Avenue with nursery manager Lin Chapple and childcare co-ordinator Lisa Green. This was followed by a magic show for the children and a tea party.
John Bruce said: "I am really delighted we have reached this point in the history of Ladybird.
"Lisa and Lin are to be congratulated on a fabulous event and a great nursery. We are very grateful to Faye for giving us her time and sharing it with us."
