A procession of scarecrows will be among the highlights of Writtle Village Fun Day on bank holiday Monday, May 31.
The village will be the focus of a wide range of festivities for the event, which will involve all ages.
The parade around the village will leave Longmeads in Ongar Road at 11.30 am and villagers dressed as scarecrows will join scarecrows people have made, which will be carried in prams and trolleys.
The procession will end up on the village green where there will be competition to find the best scarecrow.
