A leading spokesman for mid-Essex rail users has criticised "misleading" performance figures from a new rail firm.
According to rail operator One, it has performed well during its first month in charge of East Anglia's main services.
Ninety-two per cent of the company's trains arrived on time, according to official Passenger's Charter figures.
But David Bigg, chairman of Witham and Braintree Rail Users' Association, disagrees because the percentages are for the whole One group, the Norwich to London mainline, and do not relate to specific lines in use.
A spokesman for One said it is very difficult to break down individual line journeys and said train punctuality was up on last year and reliability figures were also on target.
