A new activity programme is being launched this summer for youngsters across Tendring.
The scheme aims to keep youngsters fit and healthy, and out of trouble.
The cost has been pegged at £1.50 again, but the sessions will last all day.
And it could even be extended to operate in other school holidays.
The activities are to be based around the district's main leisure centres, and Tendring Council is looking into laying on transport for those who need to travel.
Robert Taylor, portfolio holder for leisure, said he hoped the new initiative would be successful.
"We were unhappy with the attendance results for last year as fewer youngsters took part," he said.
"Part of that may have been down to the very hot weather when families may have decided to spend more time at the beach.
"However, we did not believe that was the whole reason and we wanted to achieve our objectives of getting youngsters involved, out of mischief and doing something positive in the summer holidays."
