Canvey Swimming Club has been given a concession for its galas.
Last January, Castle Point Council increased charges for the hire of Waterside Farm Sports Centre.
Councillors have now decided to grant a concession for the hire of the pool for swimming galas, to reflect the club's contribution to the community.
The hourly charge for the gala hire fee will increase from £46.50 to £65, but the pool set-up fee of £89.50 will be deleted. On average the club will save £34 per gala.
