Colchester United manager Phil Parkinson was celebrating today after clinching a new deal that will keep him at Layer Road for the foreseeable future.

The U's boss and his assistant Geraint 'George' Williams have both signed matching 'long-term' extensions to their current contracts.
But neither Parkinson, 36, nor the U's were prepared to reveal the length of the revised contracts.
"I'm very excited to be involved with a club that is clearly moving in the right direction, both on and off the pitch," said the ecstatic U's boss.
He added: "I have thoroughly enjoyed my first 15 months as manager of Colchester United and I will be looking to take the club on a step further in the new season."
One of the youngest managers in the entire Nationwide Football League, Parkinson has just guided the U's to their best-ever finish - 11th with 64 points - since winning promotion to the Second Division in 1998.
He told the Evening Gazette: "I want to do even better now by capping the good performances of last season with something to show for all our skill and hard work in 12 months time."
