Cadet Christian Foreman became the youngest ever winner of Rochford's Captain's Day prize when he swept all before him on Sunday.
The 14-year-old hails from one of the best known local golfing families - his father is a teaching pro at Leigh Driving Range, while his late grandfather was the pro at Belfairs for many years.
And Christian proved he is ready to follow in their footsteps with 44 Stableford points which as well as taking Captain Peter Moss's prize of a digital camera also saw his handicap cut by two shots to 11.
The youngster fired 10 pars plus birdies on the second and 14th holes to see off the challenge from Tony Rosen (42). Mick Gill pipped another cadet, John Pleasant, for third place on countback when they both shot 39. Top veteran was Kevin Sammon on 38.
