Southend Council's local taxation and benefits team is running a series of advice clinics.
There will be sessions at Rethink, in Queen's Road, Southend, between 10am and noon on July 1, and at SAVS, in Alexandra Road, Southend, from 2pm to 4pm on the same day.
Other Southend surgeries will be with the Avon Way Tenants' Association, from 10.15am to 2pm on July 14, with Woodgrange Drive Residents' Association, from noon to 4pm on July 20, and at Earls Hall Baptist Church from 10am to noon on July 27.
Jane Rose, the council's local taxation and benefits assistant customer relations manager, said: "We hope that going into the community, giving talks, offering advice and being available for inquiries will help to raise our profile and maximise benefits uptake across the borough."
