A summer swoop on night-time troublemakers will be launched in an area of Colchester.
Police will be patrolling the streets of Greenstead in the early hours to combat anticipated rises in anti-social behaviour.
From Thursday, July 1, high-profile police and community support officer patrols will be upped to 10pm to as late as 2am.
Sgt Dean Chapple, of the area's community policing team, said he is expecting the streets of Greenstead to get busy with alcohol-fuelled youths.
He said: "When the summer holiday comes, it will get busy. We expect big problems with youths drinking, who get very aggressive and anti-social, which includes anything from criminal damage to violence."
Sgt Chapple was confident about keeping a lid on summertime disturbances with pro-active policing
He said officers will continue to hand-out harassment warnings to troublesome youths.
