An animal sanctuary is warning against con artists who are supposedly collecting for charity on its behalf.
Veronica Mepham, of Rescuers Wildlife Sanctuary in Benfleet, said there have been reports of people asking for money and goods for the sanctuary.
People who are approached by anyone claiming to be fundraising for the sanctuary is asked to call Mrs Mepham on 01268 752923.
